Namtok Sipo National Park






Locating in 8 Tombon 4 Amphoe; Dusongyo Sub-district, Kalisa Sub-district, Chaloem Sub-district, Marueabotok Sub-district, Tamayung Sub-district, Sako Sub-district, Si Banphot Sub-district, Choengkhiri Sub-district, Chana District, Ra-ngae District, Rueso District, Sisakhon District, Narathiwat Province, Namtok Sipo National Park consists of complicated mountain range and productive rainforest. It is a habitat of many kinds of wild animals, and a beautifully natural place of Narathiwat Province. The unique places, for examples, are Namtok Aisuedo, Namtok Yakabongo. It is about 288.82 square kilometers.


Geographical Features



Lying from north to south, the area consists of high complicated mountains, some of which are uplands which are best for growing upland corps. The highest mountain in the area is Maetae Mountain. The north part is in contact with Lalo Sub-district, Rueso District, Narathiwat Province. The south part is in contact with Dusongyo Sub-district, Chana District, Narathiwat Province. The east part is in contact with Chaloem Sub-district, Kalisa Sub-district, Ra Ngae District, Narathiwat Province. The west part is in contact with Tamayung Sub-district, Si Banphot Sub-district, Choengkhiri Sub-district, Si Sakhon District, Narathiwat Province.

Varieties of Plants and Wild Animals



The forest of the Park on the west bank of Saibuti River is productive rainforest almost covered with threes. On the top of the mountain range lays the all-year-round green forest derives valuable plants such as Malacca Teak, Yang, and many different kind of iron wood. And the rainforest in the Park makes it be the habitat for many kinds of wild animals, for example; mammal such as monkey, langue, barking deer, mouse deer, deer, porcupine, loris, civet cat, and giant squirrel; bird such as hornbill, hill myna, hawk; and common koel, and many kinds of aquatic life.

By Car

There is a road, constructed by National Security Command, from Ruasuor District to Kankawe Village, Aitun Village, Aijia Village, all of which are close to the forest, and can enter the main road to Ruasuor District. The west part of the main road leads to Dusongyor Village and Aigross Village. The road has many byroads to enter the forest. That means the forest has many convenient roads surrounded, and also been convenient for inspection and suitably organized working office for the Royal Forest Department.

Nam Tok Chi Po National Park provides camping place for traveler. There is visitor center and restaurant.


Beautiful Nature

Namtok Aisuedo Consisting of seven levels with 200-300 meters high, the wonderful waterfall locates in Village No 1, Si Banphot Sub-district, Si Sakhon District, Narathiwat Province.

Namtok Sipo Being a big and beautiful waterfall, Namtok Sipo consists of seven levels. The seventh level is the most beautiful because it has a 30-meter-high cliff full of water falling down onto lower pond so that people can enjoy playing water. The waterfall is the source of water used for growing tasty Longgong (meliaceae). The first level, not far from the Namtok Sipo National Park headquarters, has a large pond caused by a dam, and also has a sidewalk from the office up to many levels of the waterfall.

Namtok Yakabongo Causing by two streams met each other and fallen from 60-meter-high cliff, the waterfall is the most beautiful especially in the rainy season.

Budo - Su-ngai Padi National Park






Parks covers an area within Naratiwat, Pattani and Yala Provinces. It has difficult vegetation such as Calamus caesius Blume. Whay Ta Kha Thong and Groden Leaves. In the past there was Phu Lo and Bu Do ambuscade robber gangs. That places of interesting such as Pajo, Chatawarin, Pu Sadet, Jampakro Waterfalls.


Geographical Features



It’s complex mountains (Soil-mountain) laid north towards south with its highest mountain of 1,182 meters above average sea level (Ta Wei Mountain). This area originates many rivers such as Sai Buri, Klong Ba Jur, Klong Ka Young, etc. Generally soil characteristic is clay mixced with sand. Mostly Stone is lava stone but some areas are limestone and big stony.


Weather Condition



Its climate pattern can be divided into 2 seasons. Rainy season starts from May to December, Summer starts from January to April.


Varieties of Plants and Wild Animals



It’s Evergreen forest covered with crowded big trees including Hopea, shorea faguetina Heim, Parashorea stellata Kurz, spcies in Dipterocarpaceae Family(SAYA), Malacca teak, Chestnut iron wood, Gutta percha tree. Endangered and endermic species are Calamus caesius Blume, Palm Bung soon or Lee paa, which found only in hill evergreen forest. These two endermic species are assumed to be left only in this area.

Fauna consists of Barking Deers, Mouse Deers, Serows, Flying Squirrels, Monkeys, Eagles, Yang Ria Birds, Ferruginous Wood Partridges, Thick-billed Pigeons, Maroon Woodpeckers, Red-rumped Shamas, White-rumped Shamas, Bushy-crested Hornbills, red jungle fowls, etc.

Ao Manao - Khao Tanyong National Park







Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to visited the people of a neighborhood at Baan Bang Ma Nao, Moo 1, Karoo Wor Nua sub-district, Muang district, Nara Thiwat province. She has developed projects in such as economy, education, culture and promote of tourism. Next time the head office of the park Pattani province, was survey Tan Yong mountain national forest reservation, the area outside the Thaksin Ratchanivet Royal Palace, it to be a forest park with total area approximately 720 rai., to named that “Ma Nao Bay Forest Park”, then was established on April 21, 1993.

A few later, Director of the royal forest department to inspection at Nara Thiwat province was policy about ma nao bay forest park, that to classify the above forest park into a national marine park because the total area consists nature resources is quite, white sandy beaches and overlapping rocky seashore are beautiful. And the Ma Nao forest park borders the Thaksin Ratchanivet Royal Palace, the royal forest department has directed the officers to go on a field trip to carry out a survey on the area of the Ma Nao bay and area nearly Bar Joh, Muang, Su Ngai Par Dee district, Nara Thiwat province it to be the national park. From to result, found the area Ma Nao bay and surround condition nature resource is quite, that the royal forest department agreed to establish to be national park and the director to new named that "Ao Manao - Khao Tanyong National Park"


Varieties of Plants and Wild Animals



Plants
The area of Ma Nao Bay – Tan Yong Mountain National Park consists 3 sections are Around the head office of the park where there’s sandy beach nearby sea beach and high of hill Located around forest reservation 20% of Bar Joh Cooperative (Settlement), whereas is swamp forest with the water is on hold or flooding in the rainy and dry season The winter season the area of swamp forest nearby Pi Seang canal with the water is on hold or flooding in the rainy and dry season all year.
Types of plants and wildlife can be divided into 3 main characteristics :

  1. The head office of the park begins the beach to steep area found nursery plant is beach forest, which tall forest with to dip stalk by strong wind impact or to grow up between the stones. Important plants are scaevola taccade, morinda, garcinia speciasa wall, terminalia, knema globularia warb., atalantia, chaulmoogra, barringtonia asiatica, monkey-faced tree, persimmon, hag plum, memecylon myrsihoides, alexandrian laurel, derris, cerbera, hibiscus, etc., which the high area found nursery plant is dry primary forest, then important plants are shorea glauca king, litsea grandis hook, pendanus odoratissimus, banyan, sindora fusca craib, vitex pinnata, anthocephalus chinensis rich, etc. The head office of the park found nursery plant are atalantia monophylla is the largest and very beautiful, surveyed by Dr. Chaowarit Niyomtum
  2. Ma Nao bay – Tan Yong mountain national park is located in Tan-Yong mountain forest reservation is quite rich with high species density, the national borders the Thak Sin Ratchanivet Royal Palace so wild animals as to come and go for to earn one’s living. Wild animals found are squirrel, treeshrew, ratufa, cynogale bennettii, pangolin, porcupine, monkey, presbytis femoralis, muntiacus muntjak, python, cobra, pit viper, jungle fowl, hawks, genus aegithina, and also the mammals e.g., cervus unicolor, barking, mouse deer, etc.
  3. Located around forest reservation 20% of Bar Joh Cooperative (Settlement), whereas is swamp forest with the water is on hold or flooding in the rainy and dry seasons. The dry season, there are 2 kinds of plants to see as follows :
    1. Swamp forest is nearly quite covers with the large tree density. The important plants are cerbera, litsea grandis hook, black blum, eugenia, ชะเมา sago palm, betel palm, sealing wax palm.
    2. Eugenia forest are the cajeput tree, just only around the large area, covering area around 80% of the total area. Can be found is the source of various kinds of animals such as wild pig, small indian civet, pig-tailed macaque, fishing cat, squirrel, treeshrew, palm civet, turtle, snapping turtle, bengal monitor, frog, small frog, striped sea catfish, striped snake-head fish, climbing perch , mynas, hill myna, coucal, white-rumped shama, oriental magpie-robin, cobra, king cobra, green cat snake, etc., from to see and inquire the people of a neighborhood. The swamp forest nearby Pi Seang canal with the water is on hold or flooding nearly all year. The important plants is cojeput tree. And to inquire the people of a neighborhood, wild animals founded are turtle, striped sea catfish, striped snake-head fish, climbing perch, monkey, pangolin, otter, bengal monitor, palm civet, etc.
